A Sure Salvation

October 2, 2022

1 Peter 1:3-5 – Like Peter, we are to bless God for our new birth in Christ Jesus; this new birth leads to a final salvation.

Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is the substance or realities of things, but hope is a necessity. There is no substance to hope, but hope is the goal setter.

We hope for things that God has given us through Christ Jesus. Some things or promises from scripture we will never receive except through faith, like our salvation.

Hope and Faith are partners. Hope is the invitation to the realities that faith produces. Hope sets the direction and faith is the power that flows to it.

Hold your place, turn to Romans 4:17-18 – When there was no hope, Abraham believed in hope. Abraham decided to agree with God, that is hope. The Word of God brings supernatural hope – even with a medical report….etc.

This salvation is protected and shielded by God’s power through our faith. There must be some direction for faith to follow; Peter says it is the salvation of our souls.

V.6-7 – Our experienced and expected salvation leads us to rejoice about the final day of Jesus Christ, in spite of any present suffering. Various trails test the genuineness of our faith. Hope keeps us on the road to eternal life.

Faith is the divine power of God, but Abraham made a decision to believe in God’s Word. That is where hope comes from.

V.8-9 – We are to rejoice, that is, the outcome of our faith, the salvation of our souls. Our heart is the production center, from our heart we harvest.
